Mr. Atkins has 30 years of experience as a skilled mining executive, with over 15 years focusing on rare earth projects. Mr. Akins was responsible for functions including the construction of the Mt. Weld project and developing long-term strategic plans at Lynas. Mr. Atkins utilized his skills to found Cheetah Resources, a private rare earth development company and acquired the rights to the Nechalacho rare earth project in Northwest Territories, Canada. Following the acquisition of Cheetah by Vital Metals, Mr Atkins led the team to successfully bring the Nechalacho North T project into production within 2 years of finalising its acquisition. Mr. Atkins’ success is based on the evaluation of each project's specific attributes to formulate the optimum development plan which maximises shareholder returns whilst minimising development timelines.
